Using laser beams as a heat source brings many advantages to soldering. The energy is applied directly and very precisely to the place being soldered where it is absorbed mainly by the solder and leads to a fast welding of the components. Single contact as well as whole components can be soldered or de-soldered in this way without thermal
damage to the component, the substrate or the surroundings.

Line-shaped
laser beams allow the fast soldering or de-soldering
of several contacts or whole components simultaneously.

A laser
spot solders single contacts quickly and precisely,
offering high flexibility, quality and reproducibility.
|

For sensitive
substrates, or for the soldering of fine contacts
and structures, mask soldering can offer a solution.
The laser energy passes through openings in a mask
only where a contact to be soldered lies underneath,
which ensures a locally confined heating. The spaces
between are protected and do not suffer any damage.
